HILL AIR FORCE BASE, Utah -- The 466th Fighter Squadron from Hill’s 419th Fighter Wing held a change of command ceremony here June 3 as Lt. Col. Dave DeAngelis relinquished command to Lt. Col. Benjamin Harrison.

DeAngelis has commanded the 466th FS, known as the Diamondbacks, since 2016. He ensured combat readiness of the F-35 squadron and prepared personnel for worldwide deployment.

“This jet is amazing and I want to thank the operations group that keeps it going,” DeAngelis said during the ceremony. “Your new commander cares greatly about people, you couldn’t ask for more.”

Prior to assuming command, Harrison was the deputy commander of the 419th Operations Group. Harrison earned his commission in May 1998 from the U.S. Air Force Academy and is a command pilot with more than 2,400 flying hours, including 114 hours in combat.

“The Diamondbacks became a family to us and I’m so honored to be here,” Harrison told the women and men of the 466th FS. “Keep putting your best foot forward.”
