CAMP WILLIAMS, Utah – “You might get wet,” the email stated to the Reserve Airmen who took up the challenge to run through various obstacle courses Friday at Camp Williams, a training site operated by the Utah National Guard.

More than 130 reservists from the wing’s 67th Aerial Port Squadron participated in the Leadership Reaction Course on Sept. 11, 2020, learning how to solve problems and take charge.

“This course gives our reservists the opportunity to apply the skills they’ve learned in an operational environment,” said Senior Master Sgt. Justin Adams, ramp NCO in charge with the 67th APS.

While trying to dodge the water, Airmen had to rely on each other to complete each task and, in some cases, lead the team.

“It gives everybody an opportunity to try themselves out as a leader,” said Maj. John Young, acting commander of the 67th APS.

Young said it doesn’t matter if the teams pass or fail the timed obstacle courses, as the goal was to exercise leadership skills, build camaraderie, and to have fun.
