HILL AIR FORCE BASE, Utah – Chief Master Sgt. Arvie McGinnis, 419th Fighter Wing command chief, spoke to the Development and Training Flight here Oct. 14 during the wing’s monthly drill weekend.

The DTF aims to prepare future Airmen for basic military training, instructing them on subjects like Air Force history, chain of command, military acronyms, and what to expect during BMT and technical school.

As the highest enlisted leader in the wing, McGinnis regularly visits DTF to speak with trainees.

“I never really aspired to be a chief, however, I did aspire to take care of my Airmen,” McGinnis said. “It’s nice to interact with the newcomers, share our experiences, and see the excitement and energy they bring to the 419th.”

McGinnis is a native of North Ogden and has served as the 419th FW’s command chief since February 2016.
