HILL AIR FORCE BASE, Utah – Tech. Sgt. Jared Jeppsen, 419th Security Forces Squadron, will represent the U.S. Air Force Reserve during the International Bavarian Military Competition in Lagerlechfeld, Germany, this week.

Jeppsen and three other reservists from across Air Force Reserve Command are vying for the top spot in the week-long shooting competition against roughly 30 teams from around the world.

The event tests military members’ skills in firing a variety of weapons, from handguns to machine guns. Because participants don’t know what weapons they will be tested on until the event, Jeppsen and his teammates practiced with several different firearms here last week before heading to Germany.

In addition to the tactics and skills learned in the competition, the event familiarizes Airmen with NATO firearms and helps foster relations with foreign military members.
