Wing hosts local, national community leaders

HILL AIR FORCE BASE, Utah – Col. Brian Silkey, 419th Fighter Wing vice commander, explains the F-35A Lightning II to a group of local and national community leaders here March 3. The Defense Orientation Conference Association, a nonprofit that aims to educate leaders on defense and national security issues, visited Hill to learn more about the base’s diverse missions. One stop included the 388th FW and 419th FW, where the group gained insight on the F-35 mission and its capabilities, as well as the wings’ role in national defense. The 388th and 419th fly and maintain a fleet of 78 aircraft in a Total Force partnership that plays on the strengths of both the active duty and Air Force Reserve components.
