Major Salvador M. Flores will be assuming his new position as commander of the 419th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron in front of squadron personnel, friends, and family here on March 5, 2023.

Flores began his service with the Air Force in 1991 as an enlisted crew chief before cross-training to become a Helicopter Flight Engineer. In 2006, he commissioned after graduating from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University with a Bachelor of Science in Professional Aeronautics

As the former Commander of the 944th Maintenance Squadron, he was responsible for leading 130 Airmen who support over 150 aircraft and producing 50% of the Program Maintenance Training for the Air Force’s F-35 and F-16 fleet.

The 419th Fighter Wing flies and maintains a fleet of F-35s in a Total Force partnership with the 388th FW -- a construct that capitalizes on the strengths of both the Reserve and active-duty components.
