Santa Claus enlisted the help of reservists from the 419th Fighter Wing to deliver gifts to students with special needs.

The reservists hosted a Christmas party at Mound Fort Junior High in Ogden Dec. 16. Some of the Airmen traded their uniforms for elf apparel to help welcome the guest of honor, Santa himself, who spent one-on-one time with each child.

“It was a lot of fun,” said Senior Airman Jacob Canter, 419th Maintenance Group. “I really liked how the kids acted when they opened the gifts, to see them light up and smile.”

Canter said the Airmen were involved in the project from beginning to end.

“We went shopping for all the kids last week, then had a wrapping party, then delivered the gifts,” he said. “It's such a great experience. I hope to participate in this for years to come.”

Reservists acquired children’s wish list items – including toys, clothing, and school supplies – using money raised by the wing’s 67th Aerial Port Squadron throughout the year.
