While there, operations and maintenance personnel supported Emerald Warrior, a special operations training exercise that leverages lessons learned from operations Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom. They were joined by nearly 30 members of Hill's active duty 388th FW. Together, personnel from Hill's fighter wings provided the sole close air support for the exercise.

Support personnel from the 419th FW's logistics readiness, services, aerial port, and civil engineer squadrons embedded with their active-duty counterparts from both bases to hone their specialized skillsets.

In addition to one weekend a month, Air Force reservists spend two weeks on annual training each year to hone skills that they will need when deployed.
