HILL AIR FORCE BASE, Utah -- As Thanksgiving comes to a close, we reflect on the many blessings in our lives, including the freedom and security provided by our nation's brave service members and their families. November is Military Family Appreciation Month, a time to honor the unwavering support and resilience of military families, who often face unique challenges and make sacrifices for the sake of their loved ones' service. From frequent relocations to deployments and time spent apart, military families demonstrate remarkable strength and adaptability, and it is our duty to recognize and appreciate their contributions.
“Just like the backbone provides structural support and stability to the human body, military families are the backbone to the Air Force as they provide emotional, social, and logistical support to their loved ones serving,” said Master Sgt. Audrey Seely, the 419th Fighter Wing Yellow Ribbon Representative. “For instance, my little daughter is the reason I am doing what I am doing now. On my hardest days, she is there to be my rock. She’s the most resilient little person and my biggest supporter.”
As we move forward into the holiday season, let us continue to show our gratitude to military families, not just in November, but every day of the year. By doing so, we can ensure that they feel seen, heard, and appreciated for their sacrifices, and that their service is never forgotten.
