The 419th Fighter Wing Chiefs Council is asking for donations to the Fisher House program, which houses families of military members who are ill or injured. Fisher Houses are located worldwide and are operated by the Army, Navy, and Air Force. The homes are usually located within walking distance of a major military hospital. They are fully furnished and can house multiple families at once, at no cost to the families. Annually, more than 10,000 families are housed, with an average stay of 12-14 days. The council's fundraiser is part of a larger AFRC goal of $100,000.

Members of the 419th FW have taken special interest in the program since one of its members was injured in Afghanistan last year. The Fisher House provided housing to the member's family while he recovered at Wilford Hall Medical Center at Lackland AFB, Texas. Wing members interested in donating can contact any chief for more information.
