HILL AIR FORCE BASE, Utah -- The 419th Mission Support Group held an assumption of command ceremony here Dec. 4, where Col. Kent Hansen took command of the 419th Fighter Wing’s support squadrons, which includes security forces and civil engineers, among others.
“Since moving here, I have learned that I now live in the Beehive State and why it’s called that,” Hansen said to the more than 600 reservists in the group. “I’ve seen you work, and I don’t know if there’s a more industrious group of people.”
Hansen also described what he thinks are the most important characteristics for Airmen: be aware, be the best, be proud, and be a wingman.
Prior to assuming command of the 419th MSG, Hansen served as chief of security forces operations for Air Force Reserve Command at Robins AFB, Georgia.
The 419th MSG is comprised of about half of the 1,200 Airmen that serve in the Air Force Reserve wing and supports all functions of the mission to “fly, fight, and win.”
