IN FOCUS: Master Sgt. David Sudak
UNIT: 419th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron
TITLE: Production Superintendent
FUN FACTS: Like many reservists, Dave came to the 419th Fighter Wing via active duty. Part of what swayed him to stay local and join the Air Force Reserve were Utah’s mountains, where he hikes, camps, fishes, and hunts. He also wanted to stick around airplanes. “Aviation is kind of in my blood,” he said. Dave’s family history includes private pilots, aircraft mechanics, skydivers, and helicopter pilots, along with veterans of WWII and Vietnam. Dave himself has deployed four times – twice to Iraq, twice to Afghanistan – and recently won the prestigious Gen. Lew Allen, Jr. award at the Air Force Reserve Command level, which is given for outstanding performance in aircraft, munitions, or missile maintenance. Dave has been with the 419th FW for more than 10 years. When he’s not working, he enjoys spending time with his wife, Lynsi, and their three dogs.
