IN FOCUS: Master Sgt. Marites Ramoneda-Thomas

Public Affairs recently sat down with Master Sgt. Marites Ramoneda-Thomas, chief of education and training at the 419th Military Personnel Flight. For two consecutive years Sergeant Ramoneda-Thomas has won the Senior NCO Education and Training Manager of the Year for Air Force Reserve Command.

Has your office won any other awards?

Our office just won the Nathan Altschuler Award for 2009. And for the past three years the Community College of the Air Force awarded us the Outstanding Education and Training office in the Air Force Reserve category.

What do you like about your work environment?

I work with the hardest working people. They take pride in their work and make it easy for me to come into work every day. The environment is full of esprit de corps. I can't think of any other job I would enjoy as much as this.

Who inspires you?

I'm inspired by Airmen who make a difference, my training managers, my husband Brad, and the founding fathers.

Who is your celebrity look-a-like?

Lucy Liu from Kill Bill.

What's on your iPod right now?

I don't know, I haven't seen that thing for a year.

What are your favorite movies?

I like action hero movies and comedies.

Why do you enjoy serving in the AF Reserve?

It is my way to give back to the country I love. I am lucky to be an American.
