Hill AFB holds 2014 Maintenance Professional of the Year awards

HILL AIR FORCE BASE, Utah --  The Maintenance Professional of the Year awards for 2014 were held here April 11 to honor the contributions of individuals from the 388th and 419th Fighter Wings, and the 649th Munitions Squadron, who performed above and beyond their calls of duty throughout the year.

Ogden Air Logistics Complex Commander Brig. Gen. Buhler lauded the group, and offered his personal thanks.

"The profession you're in has been a cornerstone of military aviation since powered flight was first achieved," he said.

"Your job isn't an easy one. It is tough work that's often done in difficult conditions, but despite this, the vast majority of maintainers follow core maintenance principle number one - to always perform safe, sound and reliable maintenance," Buhler said. "As a result, we ensure our aircraft get to and from the fight. You provide our pilots the ability to express global power to achieve the end state desired by the United States of America."
