HILL AIR FORCE BASE, Utah -- The 419th Maintenance Squadron held a change of command ceremony here Oct. 21, where Maj. Glendon Bute assumed command from Maj. Ronald Carver.
“You are a large part of why I serve,” Bute said to the women and men of the squadron. “In you, I see pride and dedication to your work. I am honored to serve alongside you.”
Since joining the 419th Fighter Wing in 2010, Bute has served as an operations officer, section commander, and most recently, commander of the F-35 detachment, where he played an integral role in getting the F-35A to initial operational capability. In his civilian job, he works as a project manager in the F-16 Systems Program Office at Hill.
The 419th MXS is home to more than 270 Air Force reservists who help keep Hill’s fleet of F-16s and F-35s in top condition.
Carver commanded the MXS since 2014 and will now move on to be deputy commander to the 419th Maintenance Group.
