IN FOCUS:  Senior Airman Shaylee Hamilton

UNIT:  419th Logistics Readiness Squadron

TITLE:  Traffic management journeyman

FUN FACTS:  For Shaylee, 21, joining the Reserve fulfilled a longtime dream to serve in the Air Force, where she oversees the movement of passengers and cargo. She’s one of the first Airmen in her career field to pack and transport F-35 parts for a fighter wing. “It’s a small role that we play, but it’s an awesome one. Not a lot of people can say they work with the F-35.” Before joining the Reserve and being trained in logistics, Shaylee worked as a dental assistant near Farr West, Utah, where she grew up. Shaylee is an avid outdoorswoman and animal lover. She enjoys hiking with her corgi, Ellie, and horseback riding after work. “My mom had me on a horse before I could walk. It’s amazing to feel that connection with an animal and put your trust in them.” In the coming years, Shaylee looks forward to deploying, getting a degree in logistics, and marrying her fiancé, Carson, who serves in the Army Reserve.
