Explosive ordnance technicians from the 419th Fighter Wing participated in a training exercise here Saturday to hone their skills at recognizing and disarming explosive materials.

"We maintain more than 20 different tools in our arsenal to dispose of 100 different types of ordnance, and this type of training is vital for keeping our skills sharp so we are effective and ready to do our job," said Senior Master Sgt. Eric Eberhard, 419th Explosive Ordnance Disposal flight superintendent. "We try to eliminate complacency by continually refining our skills to do our job as safely as possible."

EOD members are called upon to support both military and civilian authorities.
