New gas mask offers more comfortable fit Published Feb. 10, 2013 By Staff Sgt. Heather Skinkle 419th Fighter Wing Public Affairs HILL AIR FORCE BASE, Utah -- Senior Airman Jesse Betts, a material management journeyman with the wing's Logistics Readiness Squadron, reviews gas mask paperwork with Senior Airman Andrew Williams of the Aircraft Maintenance Squadron. Betts and his shop routinely issue gas masks and ensure they are in good repair. The shop is in the process of handing out new M-50 masks to all wing personnel. The newer model is more comfortable, allows for easier breathing and better communication between people than the previously issued masks, according to Betts. (U.S. Air Force photo/Staff Sgt.
