Airman 1st Class John Smith, 419th Security Forces Squadron, uses an expandable baton to strike a pad held by his trainer Christopher Fields, a security consultant, here Sept. 23. Fields teaches baton techniques to military and law enforcement members to better enable them to defend themselves from non-compliant subjects. This training is a new pre-deployment requirement for all security forces personnel.
