Col. Paul Theisen took command of the 419th Mission Support Group from Col. Charles Mood during a change-of-command ceremony here Sunday.

Theisen was commissioned in 1988 through the Reserve Officer Training Corps at Arizona State University. Before assuming command of the 419th MSG, he was the deputy commander of the 944th MSG at Luke AFB.

Mood served as the 419th MSG commander since March 2008. He entered the Air Force in 1980 as a graduate Officer Training School after earning his Bachelor of Business Administration degree the year before. Mood is retiring after 27 years of service.

"Thank you for being the one percent to serve your country," Mood said to the MSG. He turned to Theisen and said, "I have given you an outstanding group. Make it better."
