IN FOCUS: Staff Sgt. Alexander Russell Published Jan. 12, 2012 By Airman 1st Class Crystal Charriere 419th Fighter Wing Public Affairs HILL AIR FORCE BASE, Utah -- Every unit training assembly weekend, Airmen in the 466th Fighter Squadron begin and end their day with Staff Sgt. Alexander Russell, a knowledge operations journeyman in the squadron. He signs everyone in and out during UTAs, keeps files on all the pilots, and performs a myriad of other duties for the 466th FS. Public affairs recently sat down with Russell to learn more about him. Why did you join the Reserve? I joined for the education benefits the Reserve offers. With the Reserve I was able to go to college and earn a degree in psychology. I hope to get an entry-level job somewhere, and then hopefully get my master's degree. I would like to get a human resources job. Why did you choose the Reserve over active duty? The Reserve has more freedom than active duty. With active duty you don't have as much time to go to school as you do in the Reserve. What is your hometown? Roy. If you could have any animal as a pet, what would you choose? I would choose either a tiger or a great white shark. What is your New Year's resolution? I want to work out more and eat better. Do you have any superstitions? Before I do certain things, like lift weights or take a test, I count to seven. I guess I hope it will bring me luck. Stay connected - Join the 419th on Facebook and YouTube
