Lt. Col. Paul Delmonte took command of the 466th Fighter Squadron from Lt. Col. Tyler Otten during a change-of-command ceremony here Sunday.

Delmonte was commissioned in 1989 after graduating from the United States Air Force Academy with an engineering degree. Before he came to Hill as an F-16 pilot in 1998, Delmonte was at Shaw AFB, S.C. He has nearly 3,600 flight hours in the F-16.

Otten served as the squadron commander since March 6, 2011. He will now serve as the 477th Fighter Group deputy commander at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Ark.
Colonel Bryan Cook, 419th Operations Group commander, said a few words during the ceremony.

"Lt. Col. Otten left some big shoes to fill, but we didn't have to look far to fill them," Cook said. "I'll be looking for great things from Lt. Col. Delmonte, and I'm excited about this change."
