The 419th Fighter Wing lost a valued member of its Reserve family when Airman 1st Class Abbi Jane Call, 25, died in a Weber County auto accident Friday.

A memorial service will be held Nov. 23 at 2 p.m. at Leavitt's Mortuary, 836 36th Street, Ogden.

Call was a member of the wing's 67th Aerial Port Squadron and is remembered as a go-getter, an apt student, and someone who made friends quickly.

Call enlisted in the Air Force Reserve in June 2010 and graduated in the top 10 percent of her basic military training flight. She was recognized as a top performer for achieving high test scores while completing the Air Transportation Apprentice Course.

"She was only in the squadron for a short time, but it was obvious she was going to be an Airman destined for success," said Lt. Col. Melani Howard, 67th APS commander. "We had high expectations for her. She was confident, proactive and always had a smile."

According to her obituary, Call was raised in Roy and attended Roy High School, where she excelled in both sports and academics. She enjoyed spending time with her family and being outdoors, including camping, four wheeling, hunting and boating. Family says she "could always put a smile on anyone's face with her quick wit and trademark sense of humor."
