Recruitment numbers soar for wing, Reserve

  • Published
Recruiters from the 419th Fighter Wing and across Air Force Reserve Command reached their annual recruiting goal last month.

"Meeting our target every year is a great accomplishment," said Senior Master Sgt. Mark Cooling, senior recruiter for the 419th FW. "We brought in 176 local enlistees this year, even though it was tough finding open positions for them because our wing has a high retention rate."

To meet their goal, wing recruiters visited area high schools, participated in job fairs, offered tickets to concerts through the AFRC Get One Now program and other events.
AFRC's 400 recruiters brought in a combined total of 10,150 personnel from Oct. 1, 2010 to Sept. 30, 2011.

"This achievement is a testament to your enthusiasm and your commitment to excellence," said Col. Joe Wilburn, Reserve Recruiting Service commander, in congratulating his recruiters on making their goal. "I'm proud to serve with you."
Achieving the goal marks the 11th straight year command recruiters have reached their annual target numbers for enlistments.
