IN FOCUS: Senior Airman Travis Stone Published June 2, 2011 By Staff Sgt. Heather Skinkle 419th Fighter Wing Public Affairs HILL AIR FORCE BASE, Utah -- World traveler and former sailor Senior Airman Travis Stone was chosen by his first sergeant for this month's In Focus. Airman Stone, armament systems technician in the 419th Maintenance Squadron, repairs and maintains missile launchers and bomb loaders in the armament back shop. He says they're like the Jiffy Lube of the Air Force Reserve. Public affairs caught up with Airman Stone to find out more about him. Who is your favorite artist that you're listening to right now? I'm really into Lupe Fiasco. He is a really positive hip-hop artist. He doesn't rap about drugs or violence. Where is the farthest you've traveled from home? I traveled all over the world with the Navy. I've lost count of all the places: Bahrain, Tasmania, Australia, Malta, and Spain. They're a long way from my hometown of Cathedral City, Calif. Share a useless talent. My tech school instructor made me teach my class "how to do the goat." I pull up my lips and imitate goat noises. I don't even remember why I started doing it in high school. What is your favorite song to sing during karaoke? I went to a bar in Australia with a bunch of Navy guys. My friend gave the DJ $60 so we could sing "You've Lost that Lovin' Feelin'" from "Top Gun." It was the first and last time I've sang karaoke. Why did you cross over into the Air Force Reserve after the Navy? I had always heard the Air Force Reserve was the best branch to join. Plus the Air Force has better food.
