In early April, the Air Force Personnel Center released Personnel Records Display Application, an addition to the Automated Records Management System, to help Airmen better access their records.

In the past, obtaining personnel records meant a trip to the MPF or using ARMS. PRDA has an easier-to-navigate format that allows troops to obtain wider access to personnel records.

Some disliked ARMS and didn't use it because it was difficult to pull up and print electronic copies, said Senior Master Sgt. Tray Carpenter, 419th Force Support Squadron superintendent and wing functional manager for PRDA.

"With PRDA, a servicemember can access the program anywhere at any time with an Air Force Portal login and password," Sergeant Carpenter said.

With PRDA supervisors will be able to access their subordinates' records as well as their own. Over the next month, Sergeant Carpenter will be coordinating with units and emailing supervisors to verify their subordinates so supervisors can be loaded in PRDA.

"PRDA greatly enhances leadership's ability to accomplish personnel actions on their Airmen by reducing the time spent tracking down records, reports and career data - ultimately giving our supervisors and commanders time back to do their primary job," said Maj. Gen. K.C. McClain, Air Force Personnel Center commander.

To access PRDA, members should do the following:

-- In the Air Force Portal, click on Featured Links
-- Click on Career Guard/Reserve
-- Click on PRDA
-- Virtual Personnel Service will pop up
-- PRDA is on the left side of screen
-- Once in PRDA, clickable topics include Decorations, EPRs, Medical, etc.

PRDA is still being updated with records from ARMS but the records should be completed by June 1. If a member checks PRDA and is missing records, Sergeant Carpenter suggests waiting 60 days and then contacting the 419th Military Personnel Flight. If wing members have questions, they may contact Sergeant Carpenter at DSN 777-0015.
