The 419th Fighter Wing will host civilian employers of reservists during its annual Employer Appreciation Day set for Oct. 4.

Employers will get an up-close look at an F-16 static display and will board a tanker aircraft to watch and F-16 be refueled over the Utah Test and Training Range. Employers will also receive a wing mission briefing and tour the work areas of their employees to catch a glimpse of what they do while in uniform.

The local Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve organization will provide lunch for the employers and their reservists. The ESGR will also give briefings aimed at educating employers on laws designed to protect those who serve as reservists.

The wing hosts the annual event to reach out to employers and promote a better understanding of the Air Force Reserve's role in national defense. The day also serves to highlight the importance of employer support.

Wing reservists may invite one supervisor from their organization to attend.

Deadline for sign-up is Aug. 14.

To register for Employer Day, civilian employers must visit the 419th FW Web site at www.419fw.afrc.af.mil and click on the Employer Day link.

Due to space limitations for the refueling flight, seats will be reserved on a first-come, first-served basis. Employers who've attended past Employer Days are not eligible for attendance. Hill Air Force Base and other Department of Defense supervisors are also ineligible to attend.

Registered employers will receive a reminder email in early September, which contains an Employer Day agenda and directions to Hill AFB. The reservists of these employers will also receive an email containing details specific related to their participation.

Reservists will be required to accompany their employers during the mission briefing, lunch, and work station tours. The tanker flight is for employers only due to the limited number of seats available on the aircraft.
