HILL AIR FORCE BASE, Utah – Air Force Secretary Heather Wilson toured key areas of Hill’s F-35 units during a visit here Jan. 23.

During her visit, Wilson met with personnel from the 388th Fighter Wing and 419th Fighter Wing, and received briefings from the Airmen who fly and maintain the Air Force's newest fighter jet, the F-35 Lightning II.

The active-duty 388th FW and Air Force Reserve 419th FW are the Air Force’s only combat-capable F-35 units, maintaining the jets in a Total Force partnership that utilizes the strengths of both components. Hill AFB is slated to be home to 78 aircraft by the end of 2019.
