HILL AIR FORCE BASE, Utah – A group of reservists from the 419th Mission Support Group departed last week as part of a long-planned deployment to the Middle East.
The group was one of several within the MSG deploying to the region this month to support ongoing efforts underway throughout U.S. Air Forces Central Command.
To prepare for deployment, reservists must train at least two days per month and two weeks per year, along with various exercises and TDY assignments as they arise. As part-time military personnel, reservists must take leave from their civilian jobs to deploy with the Air Force Reserve.
The 419th Fighter Wing also currently has F-35 pilots, maintainers, and support personnel deployed to Al Dhafra Air Base in the United Arab Emirates.
