HILL AIR FORCE BASE, Utah – Maj. Justin Thompson assumed command of the 67th Aerial Port Squadron Oct. 18, 2020, during the 419th Fighter Wing’s unit training assembly.

During the ceremony, Lt. Col. Jennifer Fiederer, 419th Mission Support Group commander, gave remarks to the reservists in the 67th APS.

“What you guys do on a day-to-day basis is absolutely amazing, and [Thompson], you are getting a fantastic squadron,” she said.

She also expressed her confidence in Thompson’s ability to lead the squadron and the quality of the Airmen under his command.

“I just want to let you know that I am incredibly humbled to stand here before you and to be your commander,” Thompson said during his remarks. “It’s not about me standing here today, it’s about you.”

The 67th APS is made up of nearly 200 reservists specially trained to handle cargo and passengers aboard military aircraft traveling around the world. The squadron is divided into various areas of expertise, including air terminal operations, cargo processing, ramp services, passenger services, special handling, and load planning.
