HILL AIR FORCE BASE, Utah –The 419th Civil Engineer Squadron held a change of command ceremony here Feb. 7, 2021, as Lt. Col. Mark Eilertson relinquished command to Lt. Col. Jennifer Burghdorf.

Burghdorf graduated from the Air Force Academy with a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering and received her Master of Arts degree in emergency and disaster management from the American Military University. Prior to taking command, she was a deputy commander for the 452nd Civil Engineer Squadron at March Air Reserve Base, California.

“To the women and men of the 419th Civil Engineer Squadron, please know that I am proud and humbled to serve as your commander,” Burghdorf said during her remarks. “It is truly the honor of a lifetime to serve alongside you in fellowship and common purpose in support of the world’s greatest Air Force.”

Eilertson had served as commander of the 419th CES since 2016.

The 419th CES is home to nearly 150 reservists who train in a variety of specialties, from firefighting to entomology. Among more recognized career fields such as explosive ordnance disposal, the squadron also trains reservists in plumbing, electrical, heating and air, heavy equipment operations and maintenance, pest control, and more.
