HILL AIR FORCE BASE, Utah – Senior leadership from the 419th Fighter Wing volunteered to help cook and serve lunch to reservists at the Hillcrest Dining Facility during drill weekend Feb. 6.
“We try to visit a different unit every drill weekend,” said Col. Matthew Fritz, 419th FW commander. “We want our squadrons to know that we got their back.”
Joining Fritz was the 419th FW command chief, Chief Master Sgt. Paul Strazz.
“We want to reach as many squadrons and Airmen as possible and have that open line of communication,” Strazz said. “Plus, it’s fun to meet and hear our Airmen’s stories.”
The 419th is home to nearly 1,300 reservists who work a minimum of two days per month and two weeks each year. These Citizen Airmen are trained in a variety of specialties and can be tasked to deploy worldwide within 72 hours’ notice.
