The 419th Maintenance Group has a new head at the helm. Col. Karwin Weaver has assumed command over the 500 Reserve combat ready maintenance personnel.

Weaver graduated from Utah State University in 1998 with a bachelor’s degree in business marketing and Korean language minor. He commissioned in 2002 through the Academy of Military Science at McGhee-Tyson Air National Guard Base.

Since then, Weaver deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Inherent Resolve. Weaver has also commanded 7 maintenance organizations and has experience on six different weapon systems: the F-16C, A-10A/C, F-22, B52H, F-35A, and the KC-135.

The 419th FW flies and maintains a fleet of F-35s in a Total Force partnership with the 388th FW -- a construct that capitalizes on the strengths of both the Reserve and active-duty components.
