HILL AIR FORCE BASE, Utah -- Nearly 300 Airmen from the 419th and 388th Fighter Wings returned home on Sunday, April 14, 2024 after nearly five months of deployment in Japan. Family and friends reunited with their loved ones at Hill Air Force Base on a beautiful spring day.
Every April, we celebrate #MonthoftheMilitaryChild, which presents us the opportunity to recognize the courage, perseverance and tenacity demonstrated by our military-connected children, youth and teens and what they mean to our community.

“I think it’s extremely important because it allows our family to be a part of what their service-connected family member is doing.
They are here on the Homefront, betting down the showers, keeping the bed straight, taking care of the family while their significant other or brethren or sister, dad mother, whatever the case may be, is in that deployed location doing what they need to do.
So it allows them to reintegrate and share that sense of joy with one another," said Senior Master Sgt. Matthew Mason, 419th Maintenance Squadron Assistant Superintendent.
