419th Operations Group welcomes new commander

Col. Shad Stromberg assumed command of the 419th Operations Group during a ceremony here, June 1, 2024.

As the 419th OG commander, Stromberg will be responsible for ensuring combat readiness of the OG and preparing personnel to deploy in support of worldwide operations with the 419th Fighter Wing.

Stromberg enlisted in the Air Force in 1996 and earned his commission in November 2002 at Officer Training School. After graduating from pilot training, Stromberg has flown the F-16 and F-35, now with an accumulation of more than 2,900 flying hours.

Stromberg has recently served as an Individual Mobilization Augmentee to the 75th Air Base Wing Commander at Hill Air Force Base, Utah. He has previously been the 466th Fighter Squadron Commander, 419th FW Chief of Safety and 419th Operations Support Flight Director of Operations.
