Reservists from the 419th Fighter Wing joined NBA Utah Jazz players, Orbital ATK executives, and other military personnel at the Utah Food Bank in Salt Lake City Nov. 6 to sort food, pack backpacks, and serve lunch to local children in honor of Veterans Day.

The service project is part of the NBA and Department of Defense "Commitment to Service" campaign and included military volunteers from all services branches in Utah.

"I wanted to give back to the community," said Tech. Sgt. Ross Robbins, 419th Maintenance Squadron. "We get fantastic support here in Utah and it's nice to be able to give back to them every chance we get."

Many reservists in the 419th Fighter Wing have made serving outside of the Air Force a part of their holiday traditions. Each year, Airmen in the 419th FW help deliver Christmas gifts to foster families across Utah and Idaho, and Airmen in the wing's 67th Aerial Port Squadron host an annual Christmas party for students with special needs. This year, reservists are also preparing care packages for troops deployed to Southwest Asia over the holidays.
