Maj. Gen. Richard Scobee, 10th Air Force commander, visited the 419th Fighter Wing during the April training weekend to get an update on the wing's mission and talk about transition from the F-16 to the F-35A, the first of which is due to arrive here in September.

He was joined by 10th Air Force Command Chief Master Sgt. Thomas Brandhuber. The pair spent time touring work stations and talking with reservists, along the way expressing their gratitude for each Airman's service. The general also held two Q-and-A periods and meetings with NCOs and company grade officers from the wing.

"I like taking care of people and being a commander," Scobee said. "It's important to take care of our Airmen because they will replace me one day."
