Hill AFB South Gate to undergo construction Published March 23, 2015 75th Air Base Wing Public Affairs HILL AIR FORCE BASE, Utah -- Construction at South Gate Drive and Balmer Road will begin here March 23 and is scheduled to continue through June 15. The project will add an additional lane of traffic to the outbound side of the South Gate. During construction, there will be intermittent closures to one lane of traffic at the South Gate and South Gate Drive between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 2:45 p.m. In order to accommodate peak traffic during the lunch period, the Southwest Gate on 6th Street will be open Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. during the construction. The Southwest Gate is closed on federal holidays and AFMC Family days. Drivers are asked to be patient and cautious during the construction and more information will be made available if schedules shift during the project.
