419th Medical Squadron welcomes new commander

Lt. Col. Charles Needham took command of the 419th Medical Squadron from Col. Laurence Nelson at a change of command ceremony here Nov. 2.

Needham began his military career in 1991 as an Army officer. He joined the Air Force Reserve in 2012 and was assigned to the 419th Fighter Wing the following year.

"When I came to the 419th, I knew it was home," Needham said during his remarks.

Nelson commanded the 419th MDS from 2011 to 2014. He is retiring after more than 20 years of service.
