Hill F-16 units conduct ‘surge’ exercise

F-16 pilots from Hill's 388th and 419th Fighter Wings are conducting about 70 percent more training flights this week as part of a "surge" exercise designed to prepare Airmen for increased tempo during combat.

Local residents can expect an increase in noise from dawn until about midnight through tomorrow when the surge ends.

For pilots and maintenance personnel, a surge offers a chance to exceed standard training requirements and test their overall readiness capability.
