From the commander
Col. Keith Knudson, 419th Fighter Wing Commander, held a commander’s call today for the wing’s nearly 1,100 Airmen, lauding their individual and collective successes in 2011. In the past year, more than 150 wing personnel deployed in support of contingency operations and an additional 150 new Reserve Airmen joined the 419th FW ranks. Two of the wing’s top performers were named best across 10th Air Force and Team Hill; TSgt Ronald Beard, of the Security Forces Squadron (NCO category) and Senior Airman Sterling Broadhead, 67th Aerial Port Squadron (Airman category). Nine others garnered Air Force Reserve Command-level awards. The wing also completed an intensive Operational Readiness Inspection, several additional unit-level inspections and seven audits. This weekend marks the one-year anniversary of Knudson taking the reigns as 419th FW commander.
