Final Flight
Brig. Gen. Gary Batinich is doused by his family following his final flight as commander of the 419th Fighter Wing. General Batinich joined the 419th 21 years ago as a captain. In 1999, he served as the commander of the wing’s Operations Support flight and was named as commander of the 466th Fighter Squadron in 2000. In 2003, he was selected to serve as 419th FW vice commander and was named as commander in August 2004. He has logged more than 3,400 flying hours in the F-16. General Batinich has been selected to serve as the Mobilization Assistant to the Director of Air Combat Command Air and Space Operations, Langley Air Force Base, Va.
