419th Fighter Wing Photos

On Screen Tactics

Lt. Col. Surya Frickel, 419th Fighter Wing pilot, explains a training mission to a group of Utah civic leaders who traveled to Florida to learn more about the wing's annual tour training. Frickel said the screen behind him displays a real-time aerial view of the battle space with red dots showing designated “enemy” aircraft. The goal is for pilots from the 419th FW and 85th Training and Evaluation Squadron to participate in the air-to-air drill that simulates the same integrated force they could expect in a deployed environment. After their flight, pilots review the footage and evaluate tactics and performance. (U.S. Air Force photo/Senior Airman Allen Stokes)
