Reservists from the 466th Aircraft Maintenance Unit finished first as the weapons load crew of the quarter ahead of the active duty's 4th AMU and 421st AMU today. Every quarter, the teams race to load weapons onto F-16s, then compete for the yearly title in February. The team of three reservists from the 419th Fighter Wing, Tech. Sgt. Bryan Wicker, Tech. Sgt. Michael Young, and Senior Airman Jonathan Thorsted, has been practicing for the competition and the Airmen said they were proud of their speed. “We were really clicking once we started loading,” said Wicker, the team lead. “Hopefully, we’ll take the annual in February.” The 419th team will compete at the 10th Air Force competition with the chance to advance and compete for the Air Force Load Crew award.
