Retired Chief Master Sgt. Cindy George, former 419th Fighter Wing command chief, presents a patriotic quilt to retired Lt. Col. John Tanner during the wing’s gala banquet Oct. 3. The wing hosted current members and alumni to celebrate the Air Force Reserve’s 60th anniversary at Hill Air Force Base. Tanner served in the Air Force Reserve at Hill since the very beginning in 1955 through conversion to the F-16, and retired in 1988. He said he's flown 27 different types of aircraft, including the F-105 Thunderchief. (U.S. Air Force photo/Alex Lloyd)
