60th anniversary

Air Force reservist Maj. James "Trigger" Caldwell gets ready for his last flight in the F-105 Thunderchief at Hill Air Force Base Nov. 2, 1983, just before the 419th Tactical Fighter Wing transitioned to the F-16 Fighting Falcon. Caldwell accrued more than 3,700 flying hours in the "Thud" over 18 years, including 255 combat missions in Southwest Asia. (File photo)
