F-35 maintenance
Senior Airman Samantha Callaway, an Air Force reservist in the 419th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron, performs a routine inspection on an F-35A’s internal weapons bay at Hill Air Force Base Sept. 3. Hill received the Air Force’s first operational F-35s Sept. 2, and maintenance personnel in the 419th Fighter Wing are already hard at work, getting hands-on training to become experts in fifth-generation technology. When fully trained, Callaway will be part of the 419th FW’s first certified weapons crew and will help train other Airmen in F-35 maintenance. (U.S. Air Force photo/R. Nial Bradshaw)
