HILL AIR FORCE BASE, Utah -- 2022 flew by as the 419th Fighter Wing reservists trained and worked hard.
The 419th and their active-duty counterparts in the 388th Fighter Wing kicked off the year by participating in Red Flag, the premier combat training exercise at Nellis Air Force Base, Nevada. The exercise trained Airmen in a simulated deployed environment.
That training was closely followed by a deployment of pilots, maintainers, and support personnel from both the 419th and 388th FWs to Spangdahlem Air Base, Germany to improve readiness and force integration.
Wing leadership hosted leaders from 10th Air Force to showcase the 419th and its mission.
The 419th FSS participated in the Air Force Reserve Command John L. Hennessy competition and were named the winners of the Food Service Excellence Award.
In May, the 419th had the opportunity to participate in Sentry Savannah alongside active-duty and Air National Guard Airmen to demonstrate readiness and deployment capabilities of fourth- and fifth-generation fighter aircraft. While there, Airmen received valuable training and practiced the concepts of Agile Combat Employment and Multi-Capable Airmen.
Airmen maintained readiness with exercises in EOD, aerial port operations, weapons, and emergency management.
Members of the 419th supported the Warriors Over the Wasatch Air & Space Show here at Hill Air Force Base. This was the first show in four years as the 2020 show was cancelled due to the pandemic.
The 419th connected with the local community by providing F-35 flyovers for July Fourth and football games at BYU and WSU.
For the first time in two years, reservists were able to come together in morale events with their families including Family Day and a children’s holiday party.
